Welcome to the New Jersey Addiction Smoking Program and Resource for Cessation (ASPARC) Website!
The New Jersey Department of Human Services has issued proposed new rules regarding the Licensure of Residential Substance Use Disorders Treatment Facilities ( N.J.A.C. 10:161A). These standards include provisions for treating tobacco dependence and also prohibit tobacco products within all buildings and on the grounds of freestanding treatment facilities which will be implemented on December 12, 2012.
The mission of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School - Division of Addiction Psychiatry is to prepare our New Jersey Residential Addiction Programs to function more effectively by providing program staff and clients with opportunities and resources to quit smoking.
